the original "yea video game break beat sample packer" was made May 12 2023 for botb's Spring Tracks XII! original was Renoise only. a few months later I was thinking about making my break beat tracks I got to spend time on into an album yet this tune didn't fit. the drums didn't punch thru the mix. too boxy? and this was supposed to be the loud one. my other four or five songs blew it out of the water. tried to redo it a year or two ago but no good

a day or two before this time of writing I looked for smth to redo for Music Revision Challenge. most songs I revisited would be made different by a rework moreso than made better. I cleared some mids out of the break beat, pitch enveloped a sine to boost the kick, added a snare sample, a clap on every other snare, some more hats, some tambourine, and a cowbell. cleared out the crash cymbals. cleared out a pulse part and wrote an arp kinda thing way up top. made more space between the bass notes. added a guitar layer in a few places. made the beat swing! mastered the song in FL Studio and started the fade out sooner

no making-of video; I did some of this really late at night w the speaker next to my head and the rest of it in handfuls of minutes here and there
